  • 2 towels. One to sit on in the sauna and another to dry off with

  • Swimwear

  • Pool sliders/ flip flops

  • A bag for taking wet swimwear home

  • Warm clothing and a robe if you have one

  • Shoes you don’t mind getting muddy!

Is there anything I should do to prepare?

  • Come ready in your swimwear if you can. Changing space varies from pop-up to pop-up and won’t always be available. It’s all part of the wild experience!

  • Avoid a big meal up to 1.5 hours before your session

  • Stay hydrated!

Clothes on or off?

There are certain bathing cultures that enjoy their saunas naked and others that insist on remaining covered up.

We welcome everyone to ‘free the nip’ should they wish but we do request that you are covered up from the waist down and respect the mix of cultures we hope to host.

Is there somewhere for me to change/ shower?

Not always so come prepared or happy to change under a towel/ robe. You can use our very own shower on the side of the sauna or shower when you get home :). Be aware the sauna shower is cold but it will feel great for you after that time in the heat.

Who can use the Sauna?

Most individuals can use our saunas, but certain groups should consult a healthcare professional before use. These include pregnant women, individuals with cardiovascular conditions, those with specific medical conditions, elderly individuals, children, and individuals on medications.

Prioritising safety, we recommend seeking medical advice if you have any concerns about using the sauna.

You must also be over the age of 16 to enjoy SAUNA YOKU.

I am new to using a Sauna, What can I expect?

  • Heat and humidity: Saunas offer a hot and humid environment for relaxation

  • Sweating: You'll a certain level of sweating as your body eliminates toxins although we are all different!

  • Relaxation: Saunas promote muscle relaxation and stress relief. Ahhhhhhhh…

Time limits: Start with shorter sessions and gradually increase the duration. Our sessions offer you 45- 95 minutes giving you time to try 5-15 minutes at a time, cooling off in between.

Post-sauna cooldown: Cool down gradually by moving to a cooler area, going for a dip or taking a cold shower.
