Frequently asked questions.

I can’t see any availability for the day I want!

No worries! Email or call us and we will do our best to add another community or private slot for you if the demand is there.

Can I hire the sauna privately?

Yes! You can book it privately for as long as you like at our pop-up. Visit the booking link on our website.

If no availability is showing, email us because it’s likely we can add another slot just for you or extend the time.

You can also have it delivered to you for private, corporate events and celebrations. Please email or call us to enquire.

Please note private hire is for the sauna only. We do share our site and swimming pond with campers and paddle boarders, but you can still expect a serene experience.

I can’t make it anymore, can I have a refund?

As a new business with costs to cover to run the sauna we have carefully thought about our refund process and trust that you will respect this as part of your support.

Community bookings
72 hours notice is required for a full refund. Credits can be given if you give us at least 48 hours notice.
We regret that we can’t offer any refunds, credits or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice.

Private bookings
We need 7 full days notice for a full refund and 5 days notice for credits. We regret that we can’t give a refund or credits if it’s less than 5 days notice.

Events
Events are non refundable. You can however transfer or donate your ticket to someone else. Please email us if you wish to do this.

Can events be cancelled?

Some of our events require a minimum number of participants to run. If minimum numbers aren’t met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event. We’ll always aim to give as much notice as possible.

If this happens, you’ll be offered:
• Transfer to another event
• Credit to use on a future booking

If neither option is suitable, a refund can be provided.

Our sauna sessions, yoga classes and events run in most weather conditions, including rain and colder temperatures, as this is part of the outdoor sauna experience.

In the rare case we need to cancel due to unsafe or severe weather, such as high winds or storms, we’ll offer you credit to rebook for a future date or transfer to another session. We do not offer refunds for weather-related cancellations.

If a session goes ahead and you choose not to attend due to weather, our standard cancellation policy applies.

Where is the sauna?

We are located at Holmsted Himalayas, Holmsted Farm, Cuckfield, a hilltop location overlooking the ancient woodland of West Sussex.

APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Is there parking?

Yes, there’s free parking available.

When you arrive from the main road, follow the tarmac track until you reach the car park on your left. Please park here and then follow the signs. It’s just a short walk to the sauna.

Only staff vehicles are allowed beyond the gravel track, and we kindly ask that you don’t park on the grass. Thank you.

What shall I bring?

Shoes you don’t mind getting muddy (wilder winter months)
Two towels. One to sit on in the sauna and another to dry off with
Swimwear
Pool sliders / flip flops
Water bottle (note: metal ones can get hot in the sauna)
A bag for taking wet swimwear home
Warm clothing and a robe if you have one

Is there anything I should do to prepare?

Come ready in your swimwear if you can. Changing space varies from pop-up to pop-up and won’t always be available. It’s all part of the wild experience.

Avoid a big meal up to 1.5 hours before your session.
Remove jewellery before as it can get hot in the sauna.
It is not recommended to drink alcohol before or during your sauna.

Stay hydrated.

Clothes on or off?

There are certain bathing cultures that enjoy their saunas naked and others that insist on remaining covered up.

We welcome everyone to ‘free the nip’ should they wish, but we do request that you are covered from the waist down and respect the mix of cultures we hope to host.

Is there somewhere for me to change or shower?

We embrace a rustic, outdoor experience so you'll be changing outdoors, just like you would at a beach. It's all part of the natural charm.

For cooling off, you can take a refreshing dip in our wild swimming pond or use the cold outdoor shower beside the sauna.

Please note the campsite toilets on-site are only open April to September, so come prepared for a back-to-nature experience.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes. There is a toilet on the main farm which a sauna host can direct you to. Please note it’s a short walk from the sauna.

I am new to using a sauna, what can I expect?

Heat and humidity: Saunas offer a hot and humid environment for relaxation.

Sweating: You'll experience a certain level of sweating as your body heats up, although we are all different.

Relaxation: Saunas promote muscle relaxation and stress relief.

Time limits: Start with shorter sessions and gradually increase duration. We recommend 5 to 15 minutes at a time, cooling off in between.

Post-sauna cooldown: Cool down gradually by moving to a cooler area, going for a dip or taking a cold shower.

If you have any specific concerns or questions, please email us before or speak to a member of staff on site.

Do you offer wild swimming?

Yes. Wild swimming is included in any booking over 50 minutes. We also offer swim-only sessions on Friday mornings subject to availability.

You swim at your own risk as there is no lifeguard. There is ladder access from a small jetty into the water. The maximum depth in the middle is 4m. You must be over 18.

Who can use the sauna?

Most individuals can use our saunas, but certain groups should consult a healthcare professional before use. These include pregnant women, individuals with cardiovascular conditions, those with specific medical conditions, elderly individuals, children and individuals on medications.

Prioritising safety, we recommend seeking medical advice if you have any concerns about using the sauna.

You must also be over the age of 16 to enjoy SAUNA YOKU.

What is the expiry on my block or gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers expire after 180 days.
Block savers need to be redeemed within 3 months.

Can I bring my doggo?

At our current pop-up sadly not. It is a working farm and the farmer does not allow dogs, which we want to respect.
